Silent Hill 3 Immediately

But nope the spooky aptmosphere, thrills, chills, and blood spills are all here. This one revisiting the original story of Silent Hill. You take the role of Heather your typical sarcastic hormonal teenage girl. Unfortunately Heather's past is about to come back to greet her.

Silent Hill 3 is just as good as the last Silent Hill 2. It's graphics are amazing and just as shocking as Silent Hill 2 was. Extremely well designed and very realistic. The game play is the same as SH2 so if you played the previous game you shouldn't have any issues with this one at all. Your back in the same spookie town only this time you take a different path than James did. This time around your actually retracing some of the steps Harry from the first game did. It adds a bit of nostalgia but then again the town has been overhauled for PS2 so this is a whole new ball game.

The only problems I had with Silent Hill 3 is that is can be more difficult than it needs to be... meaning "difficult" level in this game = impossible. Unless you know to save your ammo and health for certain bosses you might be up a creek without a paddle. If your a "hardmode" gamer just be prepared that this games hardmode is more like "extremely difficult" which is unusual for SH since it's hardmode is usually a bit more fair on the player. Challenging, but not impossible. Fighting the last boss will be a hair pulling battle as it's impossible to do unless you saved just the right amount of ammo and health items and if not that your left to hand weapons (good luck with that).

I was really dissapointed with that part of the game. It's almost similar to finalfantasy where in the end you fight 1 boss,then another boss, and then another boss, and never have the chance to re-up on health or items. Well it's sort of the same here only you'll be flooded with a challenging boss and difficult monsters with few health and ammo items to your availablility.

Aside from my rantings on the missleading "hardmode" the game is just what a SH fan can expect. It has a deep plot with references to things that only rewards players the are familiar with the past games. This I like because it doesn't stray away from the roots of the game. It almost makes you want to play the first game to see what they're talking about which is how sequals or threequals should make you feel). Silent Hill is a game to be absorbed and isn't exactly a pick up and shoot instant thrill game like Resident Evil is made to be. It's more story than action which is where the phsycological aspects of the game kick in. I was surprised to see that the series never strayed away from these(speaking of the games leading up to the 3rd).

Silent Hill 3 is something you should pick up if you played the first and loved it, and if you havent played the first then trust me PLAY THAT FIRST! then play Silent Hill 3 you will appreciate the game more.
