Tetris Worlds Top Quality

Hmm Well I think I already did a review of this but...was not the game I thought it was and at first it was kinda weird but it has quite a few different types of tetris games you can play. So I guess overall it is a great game especially if you like a challenge..the only thing I do not vs each other its not really all that fun because there is no challenges put on your opponent if you are doing tetrises and stuff.. So basically for a single player it is a great game but if you are wanting a game that has a good multiplayer this is not the game you want to buy. I would recommend the tetris 2 game for super nintendo( the system that Yoshi is introduced on).Get more detail about Tetris Worlds.

PS3/PS2/PC USB Universal K.O. Arcade Fighting Stick This instant

I bought this stick (or an iteration of it anyway) from a guy I met at a tournament. It has possibly the worst quality parts I have ever seen. The case itself is almost too tiny to play on. I paid $12 for mine. I wouldn't have paid a penny more. The reason I bought it was so I could see what I could do with the case. Having an ultra portable case is nice (the stick is super tiny). I ended up carving out most of the inside. The screw placement for the joystick is such that you can fit a Sanwa JLF in after a lot of adjustment. Additionally my clear 30mm Seimitsu buttons fit in after cutting off tabs in the button holes. With 6 buttons there is room for a single pcb with quick disconnects. The entire thing ended up working out quite well. I really like the stick now.Get more detail about PS3/PS2/PC USB Universal K.O. Arcade Fighting Stick.

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat Immediately

Let me start out by saying that I have played a few FPS's on the PS2 and this was one of the worst. I mainly rate a game on how much fun it really is and although BF 2:MC is fun in the beginning, the game eventually gets boring and tedious. One cool feature of the game is the ability to swap places with different members of your squad but other than that the game offers nothing much to the table. The original Battlefield games on the PC were really good and that was the reason I got this game. If you are looking for a game that lasts a few hours with repetitive (although initially fun) gameplay, with one of the better graphics on the PS2 then this might be the kind of game for you. If you are looking for a good FPS on the PS2 get Black (one of the best shooters on the console) or the SOCOM games, both of which are more fun to play.Get more detail about Battlefield 2 Modern Combat.

I would like it to be sturdier, as it looks and feels somewhat weak. Save Shadow Hearts

This is a fun and unique RPG for anyone looking for a good story, fun game play, and interesting characters. For people who like RPGs, you should least give this game a try. With the unique Judgment ring which I've only ever seen in this game and its sequels (ignore shadow hearts 3 it SUCKS!!), keeps you on your toes and interested in the combat going on. With Great characters and the occasionally funny back and forth banter between them the story fleshes out very well and shouldn't be missed. Cheap Console Toolkit

The pictures here don't give you a full view of this kit. I didn't realize that it was going to be as small as it was - there are no dimensions given. The whole kit is approximately 6" x 3.5" x 1.75". The screwdriver handle is very small and the bits don't really lock in - they're held in by pressure. This isn't really a big problem, just a minor gripe, as the handle is pretty tiny for someone with hands as big as mine. The two bits designed to open up older Nintendo hardware (SNES, N64, GC, and carts) in my kit look like they were poorly molded. I haven't had occasion to use them yet, but I'm somewhat dubious as to whether they'll work properly - I might end up having to take a file to them to even things out. Last, but certainly not least, we've got the tool for opening an XBox 360. Like the rest of this kit, it's on the small side, but it works like a charm. All in all, if someone were needing a console repair kit and they didn't already have some of the tool, this kit might make my recommendation list (but it wouldn't be at the top). If all they were needing was an XBox opening tool, I'd tell them to go get one elsewhere for a cheaper price.Get more detail about Console Toolkit.

Buy PS2 Guitar Hero 5 Guitar Bundle

This is a review for the PS2 Guitar Hero 5 bundle.

I'm not as picky about my music as some reviewers. I found all of the tracks to be enjoyable. So the game rates a 5.

The guitar issued with World Tour was a step in the right direction. The touchpad, star-power button, and extended whammy and strum bars made the guitar more pleasant to play.

The guitar issued with this bundle is essentially the same, but the rubberized buttons are a nice touch. And you don't have to worry about this one being obsolete because it's also compatible with the PS3.Get more detail about PS2 Guitar Hero 5 Guitar Bundle.

Purchase SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1

SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 is a collection of sixteen SNK coin-op arcade games that have been ported to the Playstation 2. The games included on this collection are: Art of Fighting, Baseball Stars 2, Burning Fight, Fatal Fury, King of the Monsters, Last Resort, Magician Lord, Metal Slug, Neo Turf Masters, Samurai Showdown, Sengoku, Shock Troopers, Super Sidekicks 3, The King of Fighters 94, Top Hunter, and World Heroes. Unlike many collections of this nature, this collection actually contains no sub-par games. While each game may not be a classic like Metal Slug or Samurai Showdown, each of the games are interesting and warrant being replayed. As far as the port end of things, each of these games has been transfered to the Playstation 2 in a way that makes them look and feel just like the arcade originals. Although, the Playstation 2 ports do add a rapid fire option, which can be a life saver for some of these games. Overall, this collection is a wonderful buy for fans of SNK or of retro arcade games and at such a good price, it makes it even better.Get more detail about SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1.

Where To Buy Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds

After reading several reviews, mine is probably going to sound much like the general consensus of the other reviewers. However, just to throw in my two cents, this game very enjoyable to a fan of the show and possibly not a fan who likes action/RPGs. I'm not going to go in GREAT detail describing every aspect of the game, but here is a small synopsis of the major concepts.

Voice Acting:
I agree with the voice acting comments reflecting on how Anya is completely off mark. However, Hannigan's voice actor does sound a lot like her, and probably is close as someone's going to get without actually having the unique voice of Aly, herself. The voice actor for Buffy is superb. Being the huge fan I am, I found myself not even questioning that it wasn't SMG speaking. The others are the original cast themselves so, of course, they're wonderful.

The Game's Plot:
The storyline is in true Buffyverse fashion. As I recall, this game actually represents a lost episode that was going to go into the actual series. I'm pretty sure it was season six because of a reference that Ethan Rayne makes in the game about season seven's big bad, but it could be set in season five. In any case, the cutscenes are very compelling and the script writing great.

The Levels:
Because of the fact that the Scooby gang gets seperated early on, each level has a different member fighting. Such as Buffy in the Magic Box, Xander in the old High School, Faith in an old Quarry House, Willow at the Sunnydale Mall, and etc. There is even help from Sid the dummy who you get to control at some point during the game. Sid is surprisingly fast and fun to play. Also, the boss on each level is specific to the character that you're playing with.

The Characters:
The playable characters include Buffy, Willow, Xander, Spike, Faith, and Sid the dummy. Each characters have different abilities and controls. I'd say Buffy, Faith, and have the closest if not the same controls. Buffy and Faith are the easiest to manuever, in my opinion. Next, Spike and Xander are similar, although I found Xander a little weaker in hand-to-hand combat. Willow was the most fun. Although, hand-to-hand combat is an option, you can cast spells on your enemies that include Shockwaves, Fireballs, Sun Spells, Homing Missiles, Shielding, Possession, and Sonic Blast. Each player has similar objectives which include your general hack-and-slash enemies technique, but also some puzzle solving missions that range from easy to considerably complex.

As quoted by another reviewer, "By the zoo level, we lost our patience and found a walkthrough online. I guess we were supposed to know that we had to grab the top of an automatic fence as it lifts up to get to the other side of a room???" I know I found myself going on the internet during Xander's High School mission and Buffy's Zoo one because I couldn't figure out some of the puzzle work such as that grabbing gate move. Overall, it wasn't that bad, and I'm not much of a gamer at all.

Negative Aspects:
The camera angle is tricky at times. Sometimes the game won't let you turn 180 degrees with the right analog stick. I'd chalk it up to a typical game gliche. It's not severe, but can be frustrating. Also, each level has Continuation Points that get activated when you reach a certain room or place, so if you die, you will come directly to that spot. However, the game actually only SAVES after each level is completely finished. So if you've faught your way all the way until the room before the Boss and it says "Continue Point Activated" don't turn off your game thinking that you'll restart back at the point. I spent a frustrated night thinking that I'd finish the level in the morning but found out that I had to start at the beginning of the level all over again when I turned my PS2 back on. Also, there isn't an automatic lock on the enemy that your fighting. I spent many a night punching the air and kicking walls while vampires hit me directly every time. Some of the enemies require you to stake them before they die whether they be a vampire or weird creature from Buffy's zoo level. I never really understood why certain Cyborgs from Spike's Initiative level bit Spike's neck like a vampire either, but those are small faults that really don't bring the game down. I didn't much care for the Multi-player option in the game though.

Positive Aspects:
The Bonus Features are great fun to watch. Several actor voice-overs get unlocked after completing certain levels of the game. I loved Amber Benson's and James' pieces. Those unlockables are more fun to watch than a lot of the extras on my actual "Buffy" DVD seasons. Also, the game's humor is what kept me thriving onward during sometimes long missions. Through-out the game, the characters would make small comments about objects, enemies, and new places that were entirely in character.

Xander: *picks up a weapon* Now. If I could just find a monster with a bulls-eye on its chest.

Willow: *finds a Medical pack* A medi-pack! Now I can play nurse. Tara's going to love that.

Buffy: *tries to open a locked door* Locked. Mom always said my natural charisma would open doors. Just not that one.

It's small things that which really make the game enjoyable. I also liked the fact that while playing a certain Scoobie member, their "counter-part" would give them instructions on performing certain tasks. For example, a voice-over from Giles would instruct Buffy to do certain missions or Tara would instruct Willow on how to perform helpful spells. I know many people complained that the graphics were not above and beyond, but I thought they were pretty good. Also, I would much rather prefer that game designers spend more money on making the game interesting, complex, and enjoyable than focussing solely on how the game looks and not caring about the storyline.

(SPOILERS ABOUT THE GAME'S BOSSES)
.
.
.
And honestly, who wouldn't love a game where Xander interacts with bunnies while fighting Anyanka in a strange parallel universe? Or Willow fighting with magic against Vampire Tara spouting phrases like, "I-I know y-y-you think shyness is sexy, but this time... you get to be the submissive one."
.
.
.
(END SPOILERS)

Therefore, even with the slight gliches that this game has (all games have SOME gliches), I still rate this game Five Stars. If it is how the game makes you FEEL while playing it that matters, this game definitely deserves the best rating.

Yakuza Immediately

I was lucky to get a new copy of Yakuza for $19.99 in a bargain bin, this game is truly amazing, brawler/adventure/movie mixed into one package. Only flaw that I can think of is that has so many load times (some are small but ver frequent, but loading times dont happen when there is a fight or something important happening). But even with that small problem I have to say that gameplay is so addicting that you keep coming back for more everytime. Some people complaint about not responsive controls, but I dont think that controls are a problem, thing is you have to practice a lot to master them... very addicting gameplay... no more to say!Get more detail about Yakuza.

Zone of the Enders Best Quality

I was not very pleased with control schemes, but I was excited because the art is very Yoji Shinkawa. I bought this game because I am a fan of kojima san and of Yoji Shinkawa. The graphics aren't the best either, did not expect this from the same people who made MGS2 and MGS3. Its sort of a combination of PS1 graphics with low PS2 graphics. But I do have to say that the story was good very kojima.Get more detail about Zone of the Enders.

I really did not like this game at all b/c it was nothing like the Nintendo 64 Castlevanias. It was mach more fun on Nintendo. When I bought this game I expected it to be like the old ones I played, but it was not as near as fun as the 64 Games. The playstation 2 castlevania games have no direction at all. You just are lost and walk around forever. Theres nothing great about it. Pretty much what Im trying to say is it does not have a very good story line. It is wack. All out of order. I love hard statagey games where you have to find things and put them in order and all that stuff, but this one sucked:(Get more detail about Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.

The Lord of the Rings The Third Age Order Now

LOR Third Age is and addicting game. The story gets a little cheesy at times, but it is worth hours of entertainment. It is great for those of us who like to be involved in the story of video games but don't have the thumb dexterity to hit x, o, L1, right left at break neck speed. It is fun to build characters' skills and abilities and decide how exactly to administer the process.
I wish there were more fantasy or comic themed games that didn't involve super-fast fighting - where I could make intellectual decisions that impel interesting action.Get more detail about The Lord of the Rings The Third Age.

PsychoNauts Decide Now

This game is a instant classic done by Double Fine, lead by Tim Schaefer who once worked for Lucas Arts back when they made funny adventure games like Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tenticle and the list goes on. His newest release was Brutal Legend which has the same humor in it, but with this game it's a lower age so there is a lot more humor and less violence.

The story is about a boy who runs away from the circus to enroll in a camp where they teach you how to use Psychic abilities since he is a psychic. He learns some abilities, but in the process finds himself in a conspiricy too. Definantly a must buy!Get more detail about PsychoNauts.

Discount PS2 Guitar Hero World Tour - Stand Alone Guitar

I bought this guitar as a replacement for my SG + adapter combo that I have for my PS3. The only reason I did this was to finally have a controller that I could activate starpower/overdrive with the select button while pressing the green or orange frets at the same time. The adapter that I have unfortunately does not allow me to do that via pressing the select button (other than that, it is an amazing adapter). Tragically, this guitar does not use a USB dongle and therefore does not work on the PS3. I tried using my adapter and the results were less than ideal. Furthermore, when I looked elsewhere for an USB dongle for the guitar, I found that the dongle could only be used on the PS3 version of this guitar or on the PS3 Les Paul (who would want to buy that laggy thing anyway?).

Long story short, GHWT PS2 guitars don't work on the PS3 (at least mine did not). If you are looking for an extra guitar for your PS3, make sure to buy PS3 guitars instead of PS2 guitars (I'm referring only to GHWT and GH5 guitars btw).

Since I don't have a PS2, I can't say much about the performance of the guitar on that console. Hopefully Red Octane fixed the strumbar issues past guitars had before.Get more detail about PS2 Guitar Hero World Tour - Stand Alone Guitar.

Cheapest Indigo Prophecy

(note that I played the "Director's Cut" version on a PC: as far as I know, the only differences were sex scenes and nudity that were taken out of this version, as well as somewhat sharper graphics on the PC)

With developer Quantic Dream's next game, Heavy Rain, now out on the PS3, I went back to check out this, its predecessor from five years earlier. Having played the newer game first, my biggest impression was that they a) took the basic formula for this game as the foundation for Heavy Rain, and b) improved upon it in every way. Still, I found this to be an immersive supernatural thriller, introducing Quantic Dream's unique brand of "interactive movie" gameplay.

Like Heavy Rain, there's an overall cinematic feel to Indigo Prophecy that lends a unique atmosphere to the presentation. This is evident from the very beginning . . . which is probably one of the best opening scenes in any video game.

In terms of story (without spoiling anything), it's a psychological thriller that, as it progresses, takes on more and more over-the-top supernatural elements. I imagine many would be turned off by the far-fetched twists and turns that the plot takes, but I took it in context and enjoyed the ride.

Much of the gameplay takes the form of QTE (Quick Time Events, quick-reflex button presses following on-screen prompts). Here, in a more primitive form, they resemble the old 80's electronic toy Simon, but the idea is still more or less the same as it is today. In addition, adventure game elements (walking around an area, searching for "hot spots" to interact with) co-exist with "choose your own adventure" style of dialogue (several conversation options at select points - you're asked to pick one quickly to determine where it goes from there).

My biggest impression is that Indigo Prophecy was a refreshingly unconventional risk from a game developer that likes to march to the beat of its own drummer. Swallowing the story takes an imaginative leap, an open mind, and a certain off-the-wall taste . . . but, if you have that in you, it can be a pretty fun and spooky journey. If you haven't checked out Heavy Rain yet, it's, to me, a much better game, but I'd consider this to be well worth revisiting.

My five stars are for accomplishing what it did in 2005, in terms of originality and opening new doors. And hey, it also gave me a very fun playthrough, five years after hitting the shelves.Get more detail about Indigo Prophecy.

While playing certain areas of the game has too little checkpoints or there is to many in certain areas. Depending on the location in the game. Purchase Metropolismania 2

I was expecting more improvements to be honest. I'm not the type of guy that thinks that games get worse with time, but in this case I have to say the first game was more entertaining. The reason is that the first game follows a better flow when it comes to your progress in the game. This one gets boring when you see your progress is slower due to harder to solve complains, even though you may have more houses or not. Plus the image quality didn't improve, I prefer the characters image quality of the first game, and you can't even build cities in the far sea like in the previous one which I really like of the first one.

It is still a fun game, I don't regret buying it, but when you compare it to the first game that's when it loses. The improvements I like is that you can choose more characters and change their costumes, also be able to move around the buildings' front face when they are being put, however those changes don't really make a difference.

I would choose the first game over this one, but nothing wrong with enjoying both.Get more detail about Metropolismania 2.

Order Spiderman: Friend or Foe

When I first rented this game from Blockbuster, I expected it to be pretty fun and exciting. What I got was far better. I loved the game so much that I later bought it.
First off, this game's levels aren't like your ordinary video game. Each one is about 30 minutes or so and the boss battles range from easy to difficult. The average level has you defeat several enemies. Next, you move on and defeat more enemies, and so on. Sometimes, there is a new feature such as an enormous Phantom or a device that calls more Phantoms. The bosses are characters such as Doc Ock and Rhino. Usually during a boss fight, you have to figure out your opponent's weakness and exploit it. Other times, you just brawl from start to finish. You use basic moves to attack in the beginning. Later you can buy upgrades for your characters that do everything from increasing their health to giving them new special attacks. The only thing about this game that is a bit disappointing is the fact that you can buy several items and make the boss battles significantly easier.
The multiplayer mode is ridiculously fun. You brawl with your opponent using everything from webbing to earthquakes to EMP barrages. There are enough differences between the characters to make each one unique (except for Green Goblin and New Goblin, which are almost exactly the same.)
With tons of unlockables, challenging boss fights, creative character design, and great multiplayer mode, this game is one great buy!Get more detail about Spiderman: Friend or Foe.

Shop For Fire Pro Wrestling Returns

OH BOY.

What a fun game. I have recently stumbled upon this 2007 gem. not since smackdown here comes THE pain have i had such fun. i actually fount myself playing this more than the recent svr 2010 game.

I spent hours playing as various wrestlers, wrestling in just the regular singles match. its just so fun and quick.

then the other matches included, not as much as a thq wrestling game, but they are still pretty fun.

even though the barbwire match and whatnot are fun, really there just a single, normal match, with the option of throwing an opponent to barbwire. still, fun to play a match like a deathmatch, fun to toss someone into a small explosion.

theres also stuff like a KO match or a "fight" match, where you just fight. no wrestling, just fight.

you can also add little tweaks to a regular match. im not talking, "KO- ON/OFF, "RING-OUT- ON/OFF", you can make the pin-count 2 if you like. or, you can adjust the speed, its crazy. not too much to tweak, but plenty to add some variety. and by plenty, i mean maybe 3 or 4 overall decisions to choose from before entering a match.

when your done playing with the 300+ default wrestlers (may recognize a few faces), you can then create your own wrestler.

which is pretty fun. very basic attires to choose fun, but with 500 slots to fill, can get pretty interesting. also a fun variety of moves to choose from, and a bit of AI as well.

i think theres 8 belt-slots you can create. limited choosing, but is nice to create your own belt. also can create your own ref. not just the looks, but who he is as a ref. also can create a ring and logos. the create-logos menu is an eye-sore at first, but you'll get use to it.

then theres a mode where you, yes YOU, create your own promotion. you can have an EXTREME promotion, a comedy promotion, a CLASSIC promotion, etc.

its not as deep as it could be, but again, fun to mess around with.

not only are the modes fun, but the music is too!

i have to say, the best music ever put out for a wrestling game. as you mess around on menus, or, 14 (i think i remember) different tracks for a match (15 if you count the "no music" option)

the downside to this game?

the controls are a bit different than what your use to. but to say "i walk over to an opponent and immediately my guy does something" is just plain wrong. you have to walk right into the opponent in order to perform a move.

it really isn't difficult unless theres more than like 4 people in the ring.

if your having trouble getting use to the controlling of this, you can set your opponent's difficulty level to 1. after a while, you'll get use to it. unless your not patient. but if you do have patience, it'll pay off. instead of mindless "pres this and that", you begin to think of how to beat your opponent.

another downside to this game would be not as deep and compelling as it could be. and, not too western-market friendly.

but it was released as new for only 14.99, so for that price, its certainly worth it. and, now its [...] on amazon?

if you have patience and an open-mind, and if you like wrestling (not a kid who likes sports-entertainment, who thinks john cena vs batista at wrestlemania is a good idea) then should pick it up.

way better than the svr games over the years.

i look forward to a sequel, set on the sony playstation 3 console.

imagine what they could do with that! 1,000, no, TEN-THOUSNAD slots for created wrestlers. 1,000 default guys to choose from! easier menus to move through. 50 different music-options! having even more matches and other created stuff more detailed and more variety. online mode. that would be amazing!

Resident Evil: Outbreak

I am a huge fan of the Resident Evil series and out of the games I have played this is the worst. I have to say that the characters are stupid, obnoxious, and terribly crated. But on the plus side the graphics are fantastic and not very glitchy The only decent character is Koko. This is the worst game in my 100 games that I have.Get more detail about Resident Evil: Outbreak.

Max Payne Review

Max Payne is a very entertaining, dark-themed action shooter. The PS2 version has some occasional slowdown but these bits do not take much away from the overall experience. Also the loading screens are frequent and fairly long. Plenty of violence and exciting gameplay elements make this game an obvious choice for shooter or action game fans and should be a permanent addition to a mature PS2 library.Get more detail about Max Payne.

.hack, Part 2: Mutation Top Quality

This is the second installment of the first dot//Hack series. The basic premise of the game is a simulated MMORPG: in other words, the fun of playing an online role playing game (like World of Warcraft) without the hassle of actually playing online. You play as a player Kite (redundant? very yes) who was originally invited by his friend Orca. His first time on, a strange occurance left his friend in a coma and his character data significantly altered.

Part Two: Mutation is a continuation of this story, even allowing you to use the completion data on your PS2 memory card to load up your character from the previous installment, thereby eliminating the need to power-level your character before you can get to the meat of the story.

The game mechanics are interesting. They do their best to make it seem like you're actually playing an online game. This means that you spend a large amount of time battling to boost your level to keep up with the flow of the story, just like in a real MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game). But it falls short in the fact that the best point of playing an MMORPG is actually interacting with other people. In real life, you talk to someone, you'll get a different response. In this game, you're going to get the same resoponse over and over. The difficulty is another issue. While you're going to pick up what places are dangerous and which are safe really quickly, it's still really easy for your character to die if you're not careful, making the hours you spent dungeon crawling completely irrelevent.

If you make sure to save everytime you get to the root town, and don't expect a really deep experience socially, you'll be fine. If you can't get over these aspect, then go back to your PC and play WoW.Get more detail about .hack, Part 2: Mutation.

Suikoden IV Immediately

This game, unlike Suikoden 2 and 3 is the best addition to the 1st Suikoden! The PS2 graphics add to the fun, and there's alot of great gameplay to be had! It takes a little practice getting used to maneuvering the boat, and the music while guiding the boat is a little off, but finding out what characters go with others to make special moves is half the fun. There's alot of untold stories and twists and turns which make this a great game to replay. Once more, after you beat the game, you get access to the full ocean map and the armor which was not equipped on any characters after you beat the game. Just make sure to upgrade your weapons whenever you can, and trade by buying low and selling high. A definite 'must have' for RPG players!Get more detail about Suikoden IV.
