Cheap Bards Tale

The Bards Tale is another great game from The Dark Alliance Engine. So here's the pluses and minuses.

+ Starts out Funny.

- Wears out some of it's jokes (Oh it's bad luck to be you song for instance.)

= Snarky and Nice attitude... sounds great but doesn't add a lot to the game.

+ Music Summons are awesome.

- To bad your Bard depends on them entirely to much otherwise he gets overpowered easily. In addition there is a couple you will hardly be using.

+ The Voice acting Rocks.

- Sometimes it can get irritating hearing the same thing over and over.

+ Nice weapon and Armor Selection.

- The Inventory system doesn't allow you to collect items and sell them... but instead allows you to simply replace your old item for a better one. (Sells old items automatically)

+The Levels are fun.

- Unfortunately due to lack of Recall Potions you have to go back through an entire Tower(3 or more levels) to get back to the world map.

+ Actually walking around the world map is fun.

- However sometimes it's frustrating when the enemy is faster than you and chases you down before you get from point A to point B.

+ You can customize your stats.

- I found out that the one for the Monster bonuses is actually the most important.(Also all stats max out at 20... No matter if you have charms or not.)

= Talent List is good. But it's nothing you've never seen before.

Overall a great game if you like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance types games... with a sense of humor and starring a character who depends on summons. For everybody else ignore it.Get more detail about Bards Tale.
